EDCI 205 Distance Education

EDCI 205 has a field experience component in which students are in schools for eight weeks, once per week for two hours each time. In the distance education field experience section(s) of the course, Purdue students are linked via the Internet and Poly Com video conferencing technology to a diverse school in East Chicago or Crawfordsville. Purdue students connect to a classroom for eight weeks, once per week for two hours each time.

The teacher works with Purdue students to develop enrichment lessons based on the curriculum that the Purdue students teach over the Internet. Students in East Chicago and Crawfordsville view the lessons and interact with the Purdue students over a television monitor. Each week the teacher prepares lesson suggestions.
