Lloyd Alexander scholarship

Lloyd Alexander Graduate Scholarship in Literacy and Language

The Lloyd Alexander graduate scholarship in Literary and Language of $1,000 will be awarded to a second-year graduate student in Purdue's Literacy and Language Program whose research interests emphasize children's and/or young adult literature.  Students who wish to apply for this scholarship should submit the following:  

  • 1) transcripts for their Purdue graduate record (a GPA of at least 3.75 is required) and undergraduate degree (an "unofficial" photocopy is acceptable);

  • 2) a statement of academic goals within the program;

  • 3) documentation of professional activities such as participation at professional conferences, workshops, and institutes and/or participation on professional committees; and

  • 4) any related publications. Candidates will be ranked by their overall academic record as well as evidence of professional commitment to Literacy and Language Education. One graduate scholarship will be awarded each year unless there are no candidates meeting GPA requirements or professional activity expectations.
